12. Vitruvius
One of my most dedicated coworkers worked tirelessly around the clock—early mornings, late nights, weekends, holidays—you name it. Their continuous task of managing healthcare regulation, specifically checking, populating, and signing off FF&E plans, led to their burnout and departure from the company. Witnessing this, I knew there had to be a better solution.
Enter Vitruvius—an AI-based data management and document assessment system tailored for the health infrastructure industry. Imagine an application powered by AI analysis to deliver precise information about healthcare regulations and essential design considerations. Not only is this done by text but also visually, assessing the accuracy of architectural drawings based on established health design norms, and project specific decisions like those made in user group meetings.
While similar on the surface to emerging AI products like Copilot, ChatGPT & Apple Intelligence, Vitruvius differentiates itself by drawing from verified data sources, like government regulations and company archives. This system goes beyond mere assistance; it references specific sources and manages the entire drawing process, ensuring no detail is overlooked. By handling these once tedious and time-consuming tasks, Vitruvius frees architects to focus on design innovations and final checks, boosting efficiency. This innovative system will revolutionize mid to large architectural firms by preserving knowledge between projects, enhancing planning efficiency, and reducing dependence on a handful of health infrastructure design experts.
